Ever since former Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez famously claimed that a then 32-year-old John Terry could no longer play twice in a week, the former England captain has been out to prove the Spaniard wrong.
Now 34, Terry has taken to social media this summer to prove that he still has the dedication to play at the highest level, with a series of photographs, videos and messages showing him exercising and training.
In the latest Instagram instalments, Terry posted a picture and video with centre-back partner Gary Cahill, as the pair, who helped guide Chelsea to the Premier League last season, returned to pre-season training one day early.
Cahill and Terry also lifted the League Cup for Chelsea last season, with the latter scoring his team's first in the final against Tottenham Hotspur, and the duo signalled their intent to do it all again in 2015-16, as they are seen honing their skills in a bid to get up to match sharpness.
In the video Terry plays keep-ball, dribbling in a training square, with quick, intricate touches, while fellow stalwart Cahill marshals him, putting him under mild pressure.
Last week Terry posted another video to Instagram, with him simply saying, 'Lonely night in the gym tonight...' before spanning the facility with his camera, proving that he was the only one in the room.
Chelsea's first game of the season is at home to Swansea on August 8, and before that they are due to play New York Red Bulls, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Arsenal and Fiorentina in series of pre-season games.
