Martin Demichelis suffered heartbreak in the Copa America final with Argentina but he had reason to be happy this weekend in Buenos Aires.
The Manchester City defender tied the knot with his long-time partner and former Playboy model Evangelina Anderson at a ceremony in the Argentine capital.
The 34-year-old has been with Anderson since 2007 and the couple finally married on Saturday at what she described as 'an intimate celebration' for 50 guests.
The pair linked up while Demichelis was plying his trade at Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich, and they have two children together - six-year-old Martin and two-year-old Lola.
The 32-year-old Anderson has posed nude for several Argentine magazines, including Playboy, and is a former actress and dancer who became a notable name on Chilean television.
Demichelis, who lives with his family in Cheshire, has signed a new one-year-deal at the Etihad but will retire from international football following his country's Copa America final penalty shootout defeat by hosts Chile.
City's non-Copa players returned to training last month, however the former Malaga man is not due back until the end of the month, potentially linking up with the rest of the squad for pre-season training when they return from their tour of Australia.
Before that, Demichelis will join his new wife Anderson on honeymoon in Marbella.
