Turkish plane makes emergency landing at Delhi airport after bomb threat


NEW DELHI: A Turkish Airlines flight on Tuesday had to make an emergency landing at Delhi's IGI airport following a bomb threat.The flight was going from Bangkok to Istanbul.

The CISF control room received a call from inside the plane after which they informed the Delhi Police. The call was received around 1.43pm.

After making the emergency landing, the plane was taken to an isolated area. 

However, no explosives were found on the plane. 

All 148 passengers have been evacuated safely.

The security alarm was raised after 'bomb in cargo' was found written on bathroom mirror of the aircraft. The flight crew then contacted Nagpur ATC. 

The Nagpur ATC guided the flight to land at Delhi. 

However, the scanning of entire cargo will take some time.
